Licensing, authorisation and the compliance that follows

Regulyx does three kinds of work: obtaining a licence, getting through authorisation, and keeping the licence in good standing afterwards. Fund structuring and virtual-asset licensing sit alongside. Every engagement starts with the assessment or a call-back, and its scope and fee follow that call, by regulator and licence category.

Licensing applications

Lyx prepares the application for the regulator your business needs, from the regulatory business plan to the policies the regulator expects to see. Regulyx checks it and manages it as one piece of work, so the regulator reads a consistent story. Each statement in the application is tied to the rule it answers.

Before any of that, Lyx and the call settle which regulator and which licence category apply. If the answer is that you do not need a licence, we tell you.

Authorisation support

Between submission and decision, the regulator asks questions. Lyx drafts the responses. Regulyx prepares your senior staff for any interviews the regulator holds, and tracks every condition the regulator sets so that nothing is missed before the licence is issued.

We cannot speed the regulator up, and we do not say otherwise.

Ongoing compliance

A licensed firm has obligations from the day the licence is granted. We provide the functions that meet them.

  • Compliance officer and MLRO support. Support for the people who hold these roles in your firm, or the function itself where the regulator's rules allow it to be outsourced. Where a regulator requires the role to be held by a resident individual, the assessment says so.
  • Policies and procedures. Drafted by Lyx for your business rather than copied from a template, and reviewed by Regulyx when the rules change.
  • Regulatory reporting. Periodic returns and notifications prepared by Lyx, the regulator's correspondence handled by Regulyx, all logged so that the firm can show what was sent and when.

Fund structuring

Choosing the fund vehicle, domicile and manager arrangement for a fund in the DIFC or ADGM, or for a foreign fund that will be marketed in the UAE, and preparing the fund's regulatory filings. We work from the fund rules of the regulator concerned and say where the rules give the regulator discretion.

Virtual-asset service providers

Licensing for virtual-asset businesses with VARA in Dubai, the FSRA in ADGM and the DFSA in the DIFC, and with the federal regulators onshore. Lyx places your activities under the regulator that governs where and how you operate, and tells you where a second regulator may also be involved.
